Client Interview | Atlanta Boudoir photographer

Hellloooooo there! Do you ever wish you could see into the lives of the very women that grace my website? They aren't models (yet), they are moms, doctors, students, paralegals, microbiologists, travelers, writers, lawyers, musicians, non-profit CEOs, and retail managers. They love tacos, carbs, their kid's soccer team (sometimes), an occasional gym class, sleeping, wine juice boxes, reality TV, dressing up or down, and privacy.

Getting to interview my clients after their boudoir session let's me continue my relationship with them while also being super nosy. I guess it also allows me to be super helpful to you that are interested in even possibly-sometimes-maybe-kind-of considering hitting the 'contact' button and getting in touch with me.

Today's interview is for all of you ladies that get lost in the busyness of life and need a little reminder that you've got so much to offer:

1) How old are you... or if you prefer, who were you listening to at age 14 :)?

I am 28!

2) What do you do for a living?

I am a genetics graduate student.

3) What/who made you decide to book a boudoir session?

I wanted to do something nice for myself and something that would make me feel beautiful. I've seen pictures of boudoir images online and I thought, "I don't need a reason to do that!", so I signed up! I loved my session, it totally went beyond my expectations!

4) Did you have any obstacles or fears about boudoir?

I was a little fearful about being naked in front of someone I don't know. However, Sarah made it a very comfortable atmosphere. She was so encouraging and loving, it didn't feel weird at all once you got into it. I was also fearful about my images coming out awkward. I thought that I would make weird faces or my images wouldn't be sexy at all....but I was so wrong!

5) Why did you choose OWN?

I really like Sarah's style. I feel like they are beautiful and artistic images that you would want to display in your home. I think Sarah has a style that is very unique in this field. I am not one for really intense images, I wanted something softer and beautiful and I knew Sarah could do that!

6) How was the actual session different from what you expected (if at all)?

It was way different than I expected. It was just a comfortable and fun experience.

7) What was your favorite part of the entire experience? (priming, the shoot, seeing images, giving the images..etc)

My favorite part was the posing. It made me feel like I was a model in a photoshoot. So fun!

8) How has the response been to your images?

I loved them! I had a hard time picking my favorites for sure.

9) What is your advice for women interested in such a session?

Just do it! You will not regret it! You will have beautiful images of yourself forever and these images are classy and timeless so you can display them in your home for years to come. This was one of my favorite things I have ever done for myself, I will be doing these again in the future for sure.

10) Did anything change about the way you see your own beauty as a result of this session?

Yes, I thought, "I look SO amazing!" when I saw these images. I saw a new side of myself that I don't see on a daily basis. These images will be a reminder to me to stop and see how beautiful I am in the midst of all the busyness in life.

Posing while pregnant...one client's story | Atlanta boudoir photographer

While maternity boudoir sessions are becoming more and more of an occurrence in my studio (especially for those clients that got knocked up as a result of their stunning photos hahahah), this session was a little different when it comes to 'pregnancy boudoir'.

It doesn't happen often, but every now and then I get a panicked call from a client. This call usually goes something like this:

"Ohmygoodness I just found out that I am pregnant and I need to come in for a boudoir session within the next hour or day or week before my body starts to show!!!"

I love it, and it definitely gives the session a different sort of milestone in the lives of my clients. How neat to be able to look back at your boudoir session and see the beginnings of your child's life?

For this client, that happened exactly... read about her experience below!

1) How old are you... or if you prefer, who were you listening to at age 14 :)?

28

2) What do you do for a living?

Regulatory for a Medical Device company.

3) What/who made you decide to book a boudoir session?

Been wanting to do it for a while, and after I found out I was pregnant, I finally decided "It's now or never!"

4) Did you have any obstacles or fears about boudoir?

Body image insecurities. [I'm] not good at posing and [tend to make] awkward faces in photos.

5) Why did you choose OWN?

LOVED Sarah's work and the way she elegantly captures a woman's natural beauty.

6) How was the actual session different from what you expected (if at all)?

A lot less nerve-wracking than I thought especially being almost (if not completely) naked in front of a stranger. But, having only the photographer there makes it more comfortable. Posing is hard, foreal.

7) What was your favorite part of the entire experience? (priming, the shoot, seeing images, giving the images..etc)

Everything, really. But seeing the images was really special and shows the fruit of your labor [before I go into actual labor!]. I kept saying, "Dang! Is that really me?!" Sarah is amazing at what she does!!!

8) How has the response been to your images?

Response has been great. Nothing but goooooooood feedback :] Especially from the hubby.

9) What is your advice for women interested in such a session?

You don't need the "perfect" body to do this. Just as the name of the studio states, its about your OWN beauty.  Whether you do it for yourself or for someone else this was such an empowering experience and one I would recommend every women to try. If you are doing this for a special someone, think of ways to make the outfits more meaningful, so the photos are more personalized.

10) Did anything change about the way you see your own beauty as a result of this session?

Learned to love my own skin and embrace what I feel are my imperfections. Being sexy is more than just the outfit I may (or may not be) wearing, but the confidence that comes out of me.
