Did you know that we have 4️⃣ Special Edition sessions per year? Each year we have 4 different weekends dedicated to a creative theme. Our themes are usually announced in late August or early September and booking opens for past clients in October and new clients in November.

This image is from our “Morning After” theme from this January!! In March and April we had two weekends of “Floral Dreams” flower themed sessions. Coming up this weekend (and a second weekend this month) we have PAINT themed sessions coming up. Later this fall we have a Cozy Cabin booked for our shoots.

Our Special Edition sessions continue to be incredibly popular and are SUCH a fun way to get creative and get your boudoir fix :) We are on track to release our Special Edition themes in August… and as a bonus we will be in a brand new studio!

“How do you decide which images will be in color vs black and white?”

This is one of the most common questions that I get, but not from clients! I get this question from fellow boudoir photographers (and other genres) as they are getting started on their jorney, or as they are just trying to refine their skills.

The truth is, it’s VERY rare that I strongly feel one way or the other about a boudoir image’s edit. Occasionally I’ll capture in image that I know I’ll want to be in black and white, and those images are usually ones to do with movement (so a blurry boudoir hair flip) or light-shaping (silhouette shots and boudoir images with subtle highlights on the skin).

Regardless of MY preference, it really boils down to whatever the client prefers. Sometimes clients come in to our boudoir studio and say they prefer black and white, but then when they see their images they are in love with the color photos. Sometimes it happens the other way around. The best part about being one of our boudoir clients? You get to see BOTH versions when we view your boudoir images! The extra bonus? Any digital images purchased/selected after your boudoir session will come with both versions, so the decision can be left up to our clients.

Initially I was sure I'd prefer all color images from this weekend of cabin boudoir sessions, but the black and white also feels cozy!

Lace can look SO different in color and black and white images! I really don't know which I prefer for this tushy boduori shot.

Satin bedding is SO pretty for boudoir, and honestly I love how it picks up light and color no matter which version of the image is selected.
