Color or Black and white? That's the age-old question!

“How do you decide which images will be in color vs black and white?”

This is one of the most common questions that I get, but not from clients! I get this question from fellow boudoir photographers (and other genres) as they are getting started on their jorney, or as they are just trying to refine their skills.

The truth is, it’s VERY rare that I strongly feel one way or the other about a boudoir image’s edit. Occasionally I’ll capture in image that I know I’ll want to be in black and white, and those images are usually ones to do with movement (so a blurry boudoir hair flip) or light-shaping (silhouette shots and boudoir images with subtle highlights on the skin).

Regardless of MY preference, it really boils down to whatever the client prefers. Sometimes clients come in to our boudoir studio and say they prefer black and white, but then when they see their images they are in love with the color photos. Sometimes it happens the other way around. The best part about being one of our boudoir clients? You get to see BOTH versions when we view your boudoir images! The extra bonus? Any digital images purchased/selected after your boudoir session will come with both versions, so the decision can be left up to our clients.

Here are a few of my favorite: “Color or BW???” images as of late!

Bridal boudoir sessions are back!!

Are you newly engaged? Have you been engaged for 10 years? Are you THINKING about getting engaged? Do you want to drop a hint to someone that you would like to be engaged (and obviously the best way to drop that hint would be to have a bridal-themed boudoir session)?

We have the perfect session for you!

Bridal boudoir sessions were first introduced by us in 2016, but we discontinued them for 2018 while we strengthened our shooting levels. Now, though, for 2019 we have brought bridal boudoir sessions back.

While our clients can absolutely book one of our larger sessions and incorporate bridal looks in those, the bridal boudoir session is for those clients (past, present, and future), that want to really focus on the bridal aspect of their boudoir shoot.

Bridal Boudoir Sessions are $550 and include a one-hour session, 2 outfits (one must be a bridal outfit), and 10 digitals images or a little black book.
