Where do boudoir sessions take place? | Atlanta Boudoir Photography

Now that you’re booked for your boudoir session, WHERE exactly will this photo shoot take place (and who exactly will be there)??

Part of booking your session with us means that we will do ALL of the planning and location scouting for you. We have a private boudoir studio located in Marietta, GA where 90% of our sessions take place. It’s set up with a bed, couches, more couches, mirrors, vintage settees, and a whole wall of boudoir-wardrobe items to dress up in!

There are of course occasions where our studio isn’t used for sessions, like last year when we toured around the US for boudoir sessions in different cities! If we’re traveling out of state then we obviously will not be shooting at our studio, and so we find a few options that will fit the style of your boudoir shoot. Once we’ve found a few options for you then we let YOU be the ultimate decision maker.

If we’re shooting in our Marietta boudoir studio we will still occasionally book a different location for your boudoir session. This is especially the case for repeat clients since we want to change up the visuals for your session! We’re also open to any location ideas that clients come to us with….As long as you’re not leading us into a medieval torture dungeon then we are pretty open to ideas… and even then, I think some spooky boudoir would be fun to photograph. We’ve worked in hotels, on farms, in private households, AirBnbs, and banana orchards ;)

Should you have an idea for an alternate location for your boudoir shoot then send it our way!!

Here are a few non-studio locations where I’d love to photograph a boudoir session:

  • At a winery: I love the idea of roaming the vines with a glass of wine!

  • On a private plane: Heck yes, let’s join the sexy mile-high club (hypothetically)

  • In a vintage arcade: Let’s play Smash Brothers and PacMan with neon lights and cotton candy!

  • Versailles: A girl can dream, right? I saw that you can stay overnight at the Palace in Versailles and I think that would be the ULTIMATE boudoir background.

This location is an house that we rented in Atlanta for this client’s second boudoir session. It totally fit the vibe.

The LOEWS hotel in Atlanta has the best floor-to-ceiling windows. I love shooting boudoir sessions here!

Here are 5 boudoir session wardrobe ideas that will add variety to your session

Variety is key when it comes to a successful boudoir photoshoot. We definitely don’t want your image collection to look like a catalog of black lace lingerie.

By incorporating a variety of wardrobe options, poses, and settings, you can create a diverse range of photos that showcase different sides of your personality and style. This can include playful and fun shots, romantic and sensual images, and more daring and adventurous poses. Having a variety of options can also help you feel more comfortable and confident during the boudoir shoot, allowing you to fully embrace the experience and capture images that truly reflect who you are. So, don't be afraid to mix things up and try new things to create a dynamic and unforgettable boudoir photoshoot. If you’re having trouble searching for a little variety then don’t worry: we have a WHOLE collection of robes, leather, lace, body jewelry, etc at our Marietta based studio! If you’re shooting on location somewhere in Atlanta then we can always bring a few of our options to you!

Here are my top 5 tips for incorporating a little variety into your boudoir session:

  1. Incorporate Sheer Fabrics: Incorporate sheer fabrics into your boudoir wardrobe to add a touch of sexiness to your photoshoot. You can choose from sheer robes, teddies, or even a sheer blouse paired with a lacy bra.

  2. Opt for Bodysuits: Bodysuits are versatile and can be found in various styles, including sheer, lace, or even leather. These can be paired with stockings, garters, and high heels to create a seductive look. Here is my go-to bodysuit that looks good on everyone! And here is a similar bodysuit that has more inclusive sizing for curvier figures!

  3. Try a Slip Dress: A slip dress can create a sensual and feminine look for your boudoir session. You can choose a silky, lace-trimmed slip dress or one with a low-cut neckline. I LOVE this slip dress, and is has a bonus feature of being a little stretchy :)

  4. Play with Accessories: Accessories can add a unique touch to your boudoir session wardrobe. You can add a statement necklace or earrings, a fur stole, or even a pair of handcuffs. Heyoooooooo ;)

  5. Go Bold with Colors: Remember earlier when I said that I didn’t want you to look like a catalog of black lace lingerie? Well COLOR is the definitive way to get around that issue. Don't be afraid to go bold with your color choices for your boudoir wardrobe. You can try a bright red or deep purple lingerie set to create a bold and sexy look. I also love the idea of a bright blazer or robe to go over the inevitable black lace set ;) I promise color is so fun, and if you’re iffy about it then just bring it in to our studio and we can see how it looks!

All of our boudoir sessions include a complimentary wardrobe styling appointment. Helping you every step of the way is our ultimate goal! You can book a consultation with us (virtually or at our Marietta based studio) right here!
