The details that make you YOU | Atlanta Boudoir Photographer

For each and every boudoir session that we book we ask our clients what their ‘ideal photo would be’.

When you hear that question you may think that our clients start naming their favorite celebrity inspiration, exotic vacation photos, or a list of photos that don’t show off their ‘flaws’. The thing is, those answers are so completely rare (though I’d love a photo of me in a vintage car a la Jennifer Aniston’s ‘Speed Trap’ shoot).

As our clients go through their questionnaire, giving us insight into how to plan their session, when they get to the question about the ‘ideal photo’ they almost always answer that they want a photo that shows off the best parts of themselves. Our clients want to see the beautiful details that are a part of THEM.

It’s my favorite answer, because I know that client will come alive and see qualities in themselves that they’ve never known to exist. We’ll also create a set of beautiful images that show the complete physical beauty each of our clients possess. The physical beauty can surprise our clients the most because we can capture some angles that they have NEVER ever seen, haha! Benefits of being the ones holding the camera.

Here is a perfect example of a client that wanted to see HER details come out in her boudoir session. We have gorgeous fall Atlanta light right now, and that light was our team-player during this shot. #TeamBackDimples

Inspired by sculpture | Atlanta Boudoir Photography

Inspiration for shooting boudoir sessions can come from anywhere, but more often than not our inspiration will come from other art forms. Sculpture has LONG been a way to show appreciation and respect to the female form, so when I discovered sculptor Benjamin Victor I went down a 45min rabbit hole of swoon.

I knew immediately that I had to try to recreate an almost ‘sculpture’ like shoot, and I’ve been wanting to experiment with water and fabric for a while (which was exactly how I planned on recreating a sculpture).

Big shout-out to my clients that entertain my idea to spray them down with water while they wear a cheesecloth sash :) They’re the real MVPs.
