What if you saw your flaws as something else? | Client Interview | Atlanta Boudoir Photographer

What if we saw our flaws and instead of wanting to change them we wanted to flaunt them? That's exactly the feeling this recent boudoir client had!

Seriously, reading about the mental transformation that happens after your boudoir session is really encouraging to me (and hopefully to others reading this that are interested in boudoir!). Boudoir is so much more than nude photos and sexy photos. It is an empowering experience. Boudoir sessions allow you to see yourself from a different angle (literally and figuratively!!). You see facets of your personality and sensuality that you've never quite believed were there. You see angles of your body that genuinely represent how you physically look.... which is quite beautiful, by the way.

In this client interview she enlightens us to her pre and post views of herself. In her private feedback with me she suggested that I do a before/after of clients... not because we believe you're super-helped by our magical wand, but because it can be hard to realize that not everyone you see walks around everyday looking glamorous with a fabulous ass.

Read on and get your glamorous ass in here for a shoot...

1) How old are you... or if you prefer, who were you listening to at age 14 :)?

I’m 34 ( at 14 I was obsessed with No Doubt and Tupac)

2) What do you do for a living?

I’m a software engineer

3) What/who made you decide to book a boudoir session?

I had recently ran across old photos and I remembered the  negative thoughts I had of my body. Yet now looking back, I realize how wrong those thoughts were. So I decided I wanted some sexy photos to look back on at 60 and be like yeah that’s me.

4) Did you have any obstacles or fears about boudoir?

Yes!! I had recently lost 40lbs so it was hard to see myself in a new light and I felt like it might show on camera.

5) Why did you choose OWN?

When I went to the website every single photo was amazing. It didn’t matter body size, scars, age, etc, they  were all just amazing.

6) How was the actual session different from what you expected (if at all)?

I really thought I would be nervous but I got there and you made me feel like we had been roommates in college, so you had already seen me change clothes before. I remember we were talking as I was changing clothes one time and I just opened the door so we could chat easier, and it didn’t even matter.

7) What was your favorite part of the entire experience? (priming, the shoot, seeing images, giving the images..etc)

Seeing the images as I went along. It really helped me relax even more.

8) How has the response been to your images?

Only positive, and that kind of positive that has people in like high pitch voices.

9) What is your advice for women interested in such a session?

Just do it! If that means you have to skip buying those extra shoes to save for it, then do it because it’ll be worth so much more than anything you could buy

10) Did anything change about the way you see your own beauty as a result of this session?

Yes!!! First I see myself as sexy. But most importantly, things I use to see as flaws I see them now as something that makes me beautifully unique.

What should I call this? | Atlanta Boudoir Photographer

I need your help. How do I define my personal project? What do I name it? It isn't boudoir, but it grew from boudoir.

My personal project for 2018 (if you haven't seen) is centered around scars. This project has already begun, but I need a name for it. Or a focus, or a hashtag, or ANYTHING. These images will be on a separate Instagram page from my current OWN boudoir instagram, though I'll be referencing them for the entirety of the project.

What are your suggestions? Email me, text me, call me, or comment below.

Love, Sarah.
