Boudoir favorites? Yep, I have them!

Posted on by sarahwitherington@gmail.com

Clients ask me all of the time if I have 'favorites'. I used to play dumb and say 'No, I love everything equally. Now go play with your sister' (like when you'd ask you parent's the same question growing up)

The truth is that I DO have favorites, and I apologize to past clients for lying. I'm a dirty dirty liar.

What might surprise you, though, is that my favorites aren't favorite clients... but rather favorite shots. Shots meaning the actual photographs that I make during your boudoir session.

These favorites are usually predictable because the one thing that they have in common is that they were taken during a time when the client trusted me and let me direct them. You can laugh all you want when I tell you to 'look at your elbow crease' or 'breathe through your mouth' or 'cross your legs like you have to pee'. I don't care if you need a 5min giggle break (or panic break)! I'll giggle with ya :) After the giggling, though... trust me. Remember, I do this all day every day and it is in my best interest to make sure you look your best. You can't be going around town telling people I made you look like you were pregnant with a small whale.

You think she was comfortable only being half-covered in a sheet? Not exactly. However, I knew where the shadows were falling and where they weren't. Trust me to see what you can't.

What happens when you trust me is that you stop worrying about how your hands/boobs/legs/lip/hair/tummy look. You become at peace, and that's when emotion comes through. That is when the kick-ass shots happen.

Trust me, and I guarantee that one of your images (or 20 of them) will be my favorite.
